XPS boards

XPS (extruded polystyrene) is an advanced material widely used in construction engineering throughout the world to insulate foundations, basements, inverted roofs and other locations continuously exposed to water – as well as in the advertising sector. The material features a closed-cell uniform structure within its entire mass, which ensures long-term preservation of insulation properties. XPS has a perfect heat-transfer coefficient λD. The boards are foamed with carbon dioxide, which makes them environmentally friendly. We offer Styrodur boards manufactured by BASF in green, five densities and with various thickness.

Advantages

  • The highest λD coefficient possible – for better insulation and reduced energy loss
  • The only certified multi-layered structure – enables the insulation layers otherwise impossible in the case of competing products
  • Extruded at the desired thickness ranges: the manufacturing process also makes the material safe from adverse effects of water
  • An ideal product for passive housing
  • Resistant to frost (the freeze-thaw cycle)
  • Resistant to rot and biological corrosion
  • Very low moisture absorption
  • High mechanical strength
  • High modulus of elasticity
  • Low density and weight at high rigidity (perfect for very large signs)
  • Durable (application temperature range: -50/+75oC)
  • Easy to machine and assemble
  • Self-extinguishing

Applications

  • Insulation of flat and inverted roofs, green terraces and roofs and basement walls (STYRODUR® 3035 CS)
  • Insulation of walls, thermal bridges, plinths and other concrete features of buildings (STYRODUR® 2800C)
  • Thermal insulation of flooring in residential buildings (STYRODUR® 2500C)
  • Thermal insulation of heavily loaded floors: halls and warehouses with vehicular traffic, industrial-grade flooring, roadway and railway substrates (STYRODUR® 4000 CS, STYRODUR® 5000 CS)
  • Cutting of letters and other 3-D shapes

Processing

  • Cutting (hand saw, knife, styro-plotter)
  • Drilling
  • Cementing (non-solvent glues)
  • Painting (water-based soluble acrylic paints)
  • Unlimited forming possibilities by luting and cutting
